Dr. Ellie is a registered psychological assistant. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Florida. Her Masters of Arts and Doctoral Degrees were earned in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles, accredited by the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Ellie evaluates, diagnoses and treats children, adolescents, adults and families. She has a wide range of experience with ADD/ADHD, Oppositional Defiant and Learning Disabled children and teens. Issues of self-esteem, social skills and peer pressure are treated by Dr. Ellie in group and/or individual sessions. She has strong knowledge of behavior modification and can help parents learn positive ways to deal with their child’s misbehavior. She is a trained provider of the “Catch Them Being Good” parenting program. She was trained at the Glen Roberts Child Study Center, one of the top child training institutions in the nation. Sibling rivalry is a favorite area of Dr. Ellie’s where she helps siblings learn to live together cooperatively. Dr. Ellie is skilled at psychological and educational testing and can assist parents with the IEP process. Her compassionate approach to adolescents helps teens that are struggling with issues of peer pressure for alcohol, drugs and sex. Teens will also find help with issues of loss and grief, romantic relationships, identity formation, sexuality, depression, staying in school, and educational and career choices for their future.
In addition to her specialty in child and adolescent psychology, Dr. Ellie has developed a unique expertise in helping children with bicultural lifestyles. She is the developer of the game, The Best of Both Worlds, a game for Iranian children who are learning to live in the American culture while retaining their traditional values and heritage. Dr. Ellie is fluent in Farsi.
